Denver D. Atkinson (Director / Co-Owner)
A licensed WV funeral director and embalmer and has been
working in the Clarksburg area since 1969. A West Virginia
native, he graduated from St. Albans High School in 1964,
West Virginia University, and Cincinnati College of Mortuary
Science in 1969. A past president of many civic organizations,
a member, deacon, and elder of the First Presbyterian Church
in Clarksburg. Married to Kandace Clark Atkinson, a retired teacher, they are the parents
of two children, Kara A. Colucci of Virginia and James D. (Jamie) Atkinson of
Mannington WV. Denver and Kandace have been residents of Nutter Fort since
1974.
William O. Dorsey (Director / Co-Owner)
A licenced WV funeral director and embalmer since 1973, working
in Clarksburg since 1983. A West Virginia native, he graduated
from Franklin High School in 1969, attended Shepherd College
and graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science
in 1973. A world traveler, he became well known in August
of 2001 for an airline flight around the world in 61 hours,
on commercial airlines. He, with his family, are members of
Trinity Assembly of God. Married to Linda Smith Dorsey, they have one
daughter, Jennifer.
Jeffrey W. Heitger, Jr. (Director)
A licensed West Virginia Funeral Director and Embalmer, working at
Davis-Weaver Funeral Home since November 2007, he is also a licensed
Ohio Funeral Director and Embalmer since 2003. Jeff, a graduate of
the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science with an Associate Degree
in Specialized Business and Funeral Management and a Diploma in Funeral
Directing and Embalming, he received his Bachelor of Business Degree in
Specialized Professional Studies in Funeral Service from Point Park
University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Married to Angela (Mainella) Heitger, a West Virginia native, born in
Fairmont, WV, they have two children, Drew and CJ.
Roger L. Barrick (Associate)
An employee of Davis-Weaver Funeral since 1990. A West Virginia
native, born in Clarksburg, he grew up in the Stealey section
of town. He is a member of B.P.O.E # 482 in Clarksburg. He
is a graduate of Washington Irving High School, class of 1981.
He is referred to as the “Master of Lawn Care”
and Davis-Weaver’s “Horticulturist”. Married
to Sandy Smith Barrick, they live in the Edgewood section
of Clarksburg.
Richard "Scott" Means (Associate)
Employee of Davis-Weaver Funeral Home since 2006. A West Virginia native,
born in Harrison County. He grew up in the Broad Oaks section of Clarksburg.
A 1998 graduate of Robert C. Byrd High School, He attended Fairmont State
University. He is the son of H.R. "Hank" & Kay Means of Clarksburg.; He attends
Emmanuel Baptist Church in North View and is a member of the Adamston Lions Club.
He is a resident of the Glenwood Hill section of Clarksburg. Married to Elizabeth Anne (Post) Means.
She is a West Virginia native, born in Marshville, WV. She is employed as a pharmacist with the
Kroger Co. at Eastpointe.
Jimmy Mazzie (Insurance Consultant)
employee of Davis-Weaver Funeral Home since fall of 2009. A West Virginia native, born in
Harrison County. He grew up in the Northview section of Clarksburg, WV. A 1976 graduate of
Liberty High School where he was feature twirler, he also attended Fairmont State College and majored
in music education. Retired from Verizon after 30 years of service and last 9 years as a system
technician and also CWA Local 2011 Union President, (from 2002-2008) He is the son of the late
Russell J. Mazzie, Sr. and Mary L. (Roveto) Mazzie of Clarksburg, WV. He attends St. James Catholic
Church in Northview and has been Liturgical musician (Organist) for over 39 years. He is a member
of the Knights of Columbus #872 of Clarksburg and Clarksburg Columbian Club. He is a resident
of Clarksburg. Married to Annie (Veltri) Mazzie. She is a West Virginia native born in Grafton, WV.
She is retired from the State of WV and works part time at Harrison County Court House and part time at
Davis-Weaver Funeral Home as a greeter.
