Mrs. Hallie T. Hibbs, age 99, of 1609 North 18th Street, Clarksburg, WV,
died at her residence at 3:54 P.M. Friday, September 30, 2005 following an
extended illness. She was born in Clarksburg, WV, November 10, 1905 a
daughter of the late Ralph H. Brown and Sarah Jane Snider Brown.

Her husband Conard “Carney” Alvin Hibbs, whom she married July 11, 1925,
preceded her in death February 17, 1977.

Surviving are, one son and daughter-in-law, Charles & Ruth Hibbs, Clarksburg,
WV, two sisters, Mrs. Violet Bowers, Phoenix, AZ and Mrs. Margaret Bever,
Akron, OH, two grandsons and spouses, Steve & Betty Hibbs, Clarksburg, WV,
Randy & Michelle Hibbs, Mt. Clare, WV, three step-grandchildren, Clifton Newell,
Michael Newell & wife Lisa, & Natasha White, all of Clarksburg, WV, two great
grandchildren and spouses, Matt & Melissa Searfass and Josh & Diona Searfass,
four great great grandchildren, Cheyenne & Michael Newell and Victoria &
Imagyn Searfass and several nieces & nephews.

Mrs. Hibbs was also preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Samuel Brown,
Maxie Brown and Robert H. Brown and four sisters, Lena Rymer, Cora Jackson,
“Judy” Jennie Louise Parker, Maxine Brown.

Mrs. Hibbs was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church for over 70
years. She started working as an operator at the age of 15 in 1921 for C & P
Telephone Company and worked as a communication operator for Equitable Gas
Company for over 20 years, retiring in November 1970.

Friends may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street,
Clarksburg, WV from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 P.M. on Monday. A funeral service will be
held on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the Calvary United Methodist
Church in Adamston, with the Rev. Etheldean Yanero, presiding. Mrs. Hibbs
will lie-in-state at the church from 1:00 P.M. til 2:00 P.M. Interment
will be in Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery.
