Elizabeth Jane (Davis) Everitt

CLARKSBURG — Elizabeth Jane (Davis) Everitt, of Good Hope, WV, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012, at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport.
She was born June 3, 1926, in Stonewood, WV, a daughter of the late Sadie Evelyn (Young) Davis and William Earl Davis.
She is survived by her three children, Rebecca Jane (Everitt) Mick and husband Walter of Good Hope, Pamela Jo Everitt of Good Hope, and William Robert Everitt III and wife Robin of Jane Lew.  In addition, she is survived by her four grandchildren and five great grandchildren, James Mick and wife Christina and their two children Rhiannon Mick and Hunter Mick, William Mick and wife Jillian, Amanda (Everitt) Barclay and husband Jacob and their daughter Kenadie, and Autumn (Everitt) Freeman and her two children Grace Freeman and Jackson Freeman.  She is also survived by three nieces and one nephew, Sharon Montgomery, Vicki Henry, Margaret Heimbach, and David Satterfield and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Everitt of Bridgeport.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Everitt, Jr., who passed away March 19, 1975, her sister, Clara Helen (Davis) Satterfield, and her brother, Harold Davis, both of Nutter Fort.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt and sister-in-Christ to her family and those who knew her.
Jane worked many years ago as a cook at Dave’s Restaurant in Nutter Fort, in the deli at Chicago Dairy in Clarksburg, and at Jewel City Bowling Alley Restaurant as well as operated Allen’s Dairy King near West Milford in the early ‘70’s.  She also sat with the elderly in their homes and in the hospital until she retired to live with her daughter, Rebecca, in Buckhannon, and then with her daughter Pamela in Good Hope.  She was a resident of Clarksburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at the time of her death.
She was a 50+ year member of Queen Esther Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, member of Clarksburg Court #3, Order of the Amaranth where she was a Past Royal Matron, and member of the Grand Court of WV, Order of the Amaranth where she was a Past Grand Royal Matron.  In addition, she was a member of Chapter #15, Clarksburg Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem where she was Past Worthy High Priestess and member of their Past Officers Club.
 
Most importantly, Jane knew Christ as her savior and worshipped God as an active member of United Methodist Temple Church of Clarksburg prior to her illness. She continued to study God’s Word through her daily devotions after becoming homebound.  In the church, she was a member of United Methodist Women and the Nan Goodwin Circle and active in the Prayer Chain Ministry.  Jane was also in charge of church dinners and funeral dinners for the church for several years. 

The family will receive friends at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home in Clarksburg on Thursday May 24, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. with and Order of the Eastern Star service at 6:15 PM by Queen Esther Chapter #11. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Friday, May 25, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Joy Butcher-Winfree and Rev. Justice officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park in Bassel Addition, Clarksburg.
