Barnhart, Mary Lucille

Mrs. Mary Lucille (Caynor) Barnhart, age 84, of Shinnston, WV, (formerly
of Hutchinson Hollow, Mt. Clare, WV) passed away at 5:30 A. M. Monday,
May 14, 2012 at Heartland of Clarksburg following an extended illness.
She was born in Mt. Clare, WV, October 30, 1927, a daughter of the late
Earl Caynor and Grace Mae Keener Caynor.
Her husband, Orval M. Barnhart, whom she married April 6, 1946, preceded
her in death September 2, 2002.
Surviving are: a son and daughter-in-law, Orval R. “Rick” & Gerry Barnhart,
Hedges Heights, Lumberport, WV, three grandchildren & spouses, Jeff & Karson
Barnhart, West Milford, WV, Chad & Jamie Barnhart, Mt. Clare, WV, and
Michelle & Brian Watkins, Statesville, NC, six great grandchildren, Autumn
Barnhart, Allysha Barnhart, Ryon Barnhart, Alex Barnhart, Kyle
Barnhart & Gracie Barnhart and many special nieces & nephews.
Mrs. Barnhart was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Cheryl Diane
Barnhart, four brothers, William, Earl Jr., Ernest & Dale Caynor and two sisters,
Alma Burkhammer & Madeline Bird. Mary Lucille was the last surviving
member of her immediate family.
Her greatest joys and most remembered moments were those spent with her family
and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking and working on her ceramics. She had
been a member of the Harrison Co. Senior Citizens Center in Mt. Clare. She had
worked as a waitress at the G. C. Murphy Restaurant and then worked at Elite
Cleaners as a presser for 15 years, retiring in 1982, to become just a homemaker.
The Barnhart family extends a special “Thanks” to Betty Hess of Shinnston for her
special care, kindness and assistance with “Mom” in her failing months, and also to
Elaine Ash, a favorite niece for her wonderful care of “Aunt Lucy”.
Family & friends may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main
Street, Clarksburg from 4:00 – 8:00 P. M. on Wednesday, where a funeral service
will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 11:00 A. M. with the Reverend Rodney
Heckert presiding. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Mt. Clare United
Methodist Church, 48 Chub Run Road, Mt. Clare, WV 26408.
