David L. Tipper, age 79 of Clarksburg, WV departed this life on Friday,
Apr. 27, 2012 at the United Hospital Center Transitional Care, Bridgeport, WV
with his wife and daughter by his side.
He was born in Clarksburg, WV on Oct. 26, 1932, a son of the late
Emmett David Tipper and Mildred Virginia (Gray) Tipper Toothman.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Wandalee (Hyre) Tipper, a daughter,
Melinda Lee McClure and her husband William Lawrence, 3 grandchildren, William Brian McClure, Tabitha Brooke Schommer and her husband Joseph
and Ashley Elizabeth McClure, a great grandchild, Emily Elizabeth Schommer,
6 nephews, 4 nieces and several great nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by Paternal grandparents, Ina May Tipper and
David B. Tipper, maternal grandparents, Ocie E. Gray and Pearle L. Gray
and a brother, Donald Paige Tipper.
Mr. Tipper graduated from Victory High School in the Class of 1950.
By faith he was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He worked for Hazel Atlas starting in 1950 and retired from Newell in 1987 with 37 years service.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday where a funeral service will be held at
11 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012 with Ruben Losh presiding. Interment will be in
the Lost Creek Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery.
