Joseph V. Leuliette, Jr., age 80 of Hepzibah, WV died Thursday evening, April 24, 2003 in the United Hospital Center. He was born in Glen Falls, WV on March 26, 1923, son of the late Joseph V. Leuliette, Sr. and Effie Ruth (Foster) Leuliette.
His wife, Mildred “Peggy” Plivelich Leuliette, whom he married on October 4, 1950, survives. Also surviving are two daughters and a son in law, Ruth Ann & Rich Ponzurick, Bridgeport, WV, Susie Leuliette, West Palm Beach, Florida, one sister, Edith Watson, Clarksburg, WV, two grandchildren, Alissa Ponzurick, Morgantown, WV and Lindsey Ponzurick, Maple Lake, Bridgeport, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and two care givers, Pam Nicholson and George Gerrard.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Hedrick, Sarah and Ina Marie Leuliette, two brothers, James and Donald “Abe” Leuliette.
Mr. Leuliette was a Baptist.
He was a former employee of Rolland Glass Company. Later he worked with Better Vision TV Systems in Mannington, WV after which he became owner and operator of Leuliette Industries, a tv cable system serving Hepzibah, Wolf Summit, Sun
Valley, Wilsonburg, Reynoldsville and Lost Creek.
Mr. Leuliette was in the Army during World War II serving in Italy with the 10th Mountain Climbing Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
Mr. Leuliette was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Meuse Argonne Post # 573.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg, WV from 12 noon - 9 p.m., Sunday where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2003 with Pastor Richard E. Wilson presiding.
Interment will be in the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Clarksburg American Legion Post #13 and the Salem V.F.W. Post # 9151 Color Guards.
